Yoxford WIN by 20 runs.

The first XI started there season of with a solid performance to get the better of Tendring 1st XI, after losing the toss and Tendring electing to bowl, Yoxford looked to start strong. with the pitch playing very consistent and a good carry for an early season pitch tendering picked up a couple of relatively early wickets. up steps Chris Mears in 3rd, after a good 2/3 overs feeling bat to ball Chris found his rhythm down the leg side to run up some great runs, next in to join Chris was Tom Driver, after some cracking overs they soon racked up a ton plus partnership, but it didn't stop there. with Chris out for a very respectful 65 runs Tom continued the form and went on to hit the century off just 94 balls! Yoxford ended on 226/4 (45.0)

2nd innings Paul ray and Will Driver opened the bowling looking to get some early wickets and to put the pressure on from the off, after around 4 overs, Will bowls a beautiful ball, the batsmen hits a miss timed drive and silence falls around the field as the ball travels to mid on where Adam Cox is waiting. but cool, calm and collected the catch is made! that's his first of hopefully many this season! with a couple of wickets taken here and there Tendring went on a bit of run slowly chasing the score set. coming into the last 8 overs Yoxford found their form again with some great wickets taken by David Driver (sporting a beautiful scarf which now, like him, wont be missing a game) and tom driver narrowly missing out on a hatrick. another beautiful diving catch made by David Driver at gully and some solid fielding through out made Tendring unable to achieve the chase with very little overs left Yoxford secured 19 points with the win.

we look to continue this form next week as we travel St Peters Road to take on Braintree.
